Miami/Fort Lauderdale Y100

Does anyone know Y has gone back to the "Y100.7" branding? The last time I remember them using it was circa 2006. What benefit does it bring?

They used to call it 'Miami's Hit Music Channel' at one point as well. Though technically correct, I've never thought of a radio station as a channel.

Big's new branding includes the decimal as well. Maybe to make it more specific for unfamiliar listeners?

Back in the Chuck Blore days of KFWB and its many clones and imitations, many stations were "Channnels". KFWB, Color Channel 98 was likely the first.

iHeart's CHR in San Diego still uses that branding as "Channel 93-3."
