It was a great show from a spectator's point of view. There was only one act that I didn't care for, and that was Southern Culture on the Skids. They just didn't flow with the other acts on the bill. I was a little disappointed that they went up to $12 for 2-3 lbs of crawfish. Other than that, everything was awesome.
By the way, it's the Miller Lite Crawfish Boil...and if you want to attach a radio station to the name, it would have to be Rock 93.9, as they are the station that has been promoting this since the beginning...

I thought it was good outside of one band (or should I say act) that went 20 minutes longer than they should have. But I got to be one the lucky ones that stayed with the very nice people at Miller Lite on their party deck. I was really glad that they invited ROCK and JACK into their private party.
I thought 3 Doors Down was amazing, Gavin DeGraw really impressed me, and Finger Eleven always puts on a great show.

The show went really well. All the bands I saw were amazing. From local guys Papercut Massacre to the headliners, 3 Doors Down, they all put on a great show.
As for attaching a station to it, I don't think it's necessary. I wouldn't think Rock 93.9 would want to be associated with every band there. Plus, they didn't bring the show this year. It was a show put on by Miller Lite. True, they've helped bring it in the past, but why live in the past.
Anyone else really impressed with Gavin DeGraw? I had no idea he'd be so good live. You never know what you'll get with live performances but I thought he did an amazing job.

I know we shouldn't associate stations with the festival, but it happens...
I thought Gavin DeGraw sounded really great. He sounded exactly like he does on the radio. It's not too often that you find someone that can do that...

I didn't attend the festival, but it was good to see some diversity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was T-Pain the first non-rock artist to be a part of the show?
If you weren't attaching a station to the event, then why would others even try. Frankly, I don't care either way. But I do know that there is a big difference between saying "PRESENTS" and "welcomes" when dealing with a big event. And I always heard ROCK 93.9 say "PRESENTS."
And btw, Miller Lite has always been the main sponsor of the event. That has never changed!

Yeah, caught them (ZZ) last time they were at the mausoleum, errr I mean coliseum when Arrow 94 dot 7 welcomed, sponsored, presented, promoted, gave away tickets to the neutral show. I will say that they are kind of turdy backstage, but typical of musicians. You know, like most people in the "biz" these days (well ok, most people since Marconi), thinking they are all holier than thou. Meanwhile, no one cares, shut up and play the tunes!

I'm supposed to be putting up flyers for JubileeJAM, but have to wait for word from a friend of mine on whether that is going to happen. I hope it does, b/c $40/ticket is pretty expensive...well worth it, but expensive nontheless...

You're right, I've yet to show up at any of your live broadcasts to collect a t-shirt. That's how I know a bunch of people, from their live broadcasts. I like the free food and t-shirts. Not sure who misty/olemissy is? Perhaps I need to go to one of her (assuming it is a her) remotes to meet her and eat some free food and collect a T. Does she do those?
That brings up another interesting question, is it typical for overnight voice tracked people to do live broadcasts? I have met Fisher before while he was broadcasting, but I do not hear him on the air much. Does he work on the weekends and I just don't hear him?
On a side note, what causes ratings to be embargoed? I saw a note on that, and what does that mean? I understand it is a bad thing, but why?

I'm gonna be honest...I'm pretty new here in Mississippi. Coming from a country radio station, i was listening to i think it's 96.3 at about 1:30am - overnights - and i heard the sweetest voice. So someone told me she also works at a station called y101.7 and that is why i clicked on this topic. I am trying to find out who is the owner of these golden tones I heard, they were angelic almost! Sorry to be so sappy but i had to get that out there. Please point me in the right direction towards this heavenly sent, beautiful voice

WaitingforAugust: Since one can loosely call themselves a radio professional because they pick random names out of a phone book and tech. remotes for an otherwise jockless radio station, I won’t comment on your constant display of ignorance on this message board of otherwise professionals. I appreciate you peeling the layers of my life. That shows you care. But as far as me stalking anyone, I dont appreciate being accused of that. So why the hate? If the two of you have personal issues take it elsewhere, before the thread gets tossed to the bowels of the "take it outside".
