rumblings in the building say y101 will flip by next week
 
Maybe they’ll take a cue from the market research dept. at Lotus and flip that biatch to CHR. Or country? Yeah! Bring back Kickin’ Country KNAX!

Surely they won’t go for something in the rock sphere?

JackFM on 101.1 seems unlikely: why resuscitate a dead patient? Rigor set in on JackFM a while ago. KHIT could have been the nail in that coffin. I’m running out of “dead” analogies here…

Why not try to do something DIFFERENT? I know that’s heresy, especially in corporate radio, but surely “Jack Two: Electric Boogaloo” isn’t the Peak of creativity?

As long as they dont bring in Athena, it will pull some numbers for the first few months, and if it is a good "whatever format the wheel stops on", it will do well.
Of course considering corporate radio is behind it, it will probably not be well executed, under funded, understaffed and OVER consulted, but I do like the "Modern 80's" Ken suggested...

Talk about beating a dead horse, Lets see there sister station Kiss Country,KUBB, KJUG, and owe ya KHGE, KHGE with there HUGE ratings. There nobody doing MODERN 80s now that JACK is gone.

Oh I get what you mean ,it took me a few minutes.
 
I have noticed that the Jack comment line 247-JACK is still there,Ive check out the website of the online home of JACK that list all JACK stations and there plenty of them that had a better mix of music than 105.9, some have DJs in the morning and the Afternoon, one mentioned by exkynodj KZJK has a very good mix of 80s MODERN and MAINSTREAM that 105.9 did not have, MAYBE PEAK CAN bring back JACK with a better playlist on 101.1 .EITHER THAT OR A TRIPLE A like KPIG or KFOG we need something different than the same old CLASSIC HITS/ROCK stations.
 
While I appreciate your wanting something different, KFOG in Fresno wouldn't even approach the peak (no pun) ratings of the more mainstream Jack. This is a market where bland and boring is the rule. I doubt if this market would even know how to react to something that doesn't include the "safe 100"... I was fortunate to be in radio at a time when people were willing to take risks. I'm happy to not be in radio today, but feel for those of you who understand that risk can bring about reward and won't have the chance thanks to corporate....

At this point, corporate (Peak, CC - whomever) is chasing away listeners, nothing more.
 
I have been listening for the past few hours, seems that they moved in the right direction, but are still stuck in limbo. Either do Top 40 or stay with 80's and 90's, both are underrepresented in Fresno
 
KKBZ is the best for 80s rock metal, but now we don't have a station that specialize in modern 80s.
 
I was referring to the loss of JACK, not 101.1. THe combination of both LOTUS stations KKBZ and KHIT might be why JACK is down,even though 101.1 did play some 80s, JACK was better at the modern 80s. THE BLAZE RULES WITH THE METAL 80s better than THE FOX.
 
Sounds like "80's 90's Now" is gonna be a good hit with good production elements and without that annoying voice out of every song.
Glad to see Peak take my advice on the hole in Fresno Radio.
Now if they do it right it can do well...only time will tell...

they're doing good so far....still no jocks though (live ones at least)
