I've noticed that Y102/Reading seems to have evolved into more of a classic rock station. If you look at their playlist on yes.com, you'll see that many of the songs they play are classic rock songs from the 70s and 80s. I've even heard the DJ's mention "Classic Rock Hits - Y102" instead of the usual "Rock Hits - Y102". Did anyone else take notice of this? Personally, I think the station sounds better with more of a classic rock sound.

What happened to "The Scott and Jackie Morning Show"? Heard plenty (too much) Jackie. No Scott. Chuck Corbin's still there for news/traffic. Somebody named Dave had way too much air time. They seemed to refer to themselves as "The Morning Crew".

Music = Good. Chatter = juvenile.

New direction because of impending WBYN flip? Who knows.

Looking at their playlist... they've severely cut off the currents in the past week... and looking at yes.com, the 6pm hour had only ONE current song.

My question... why change if you're #1?

I must say that if it's because of WBYN, I think that's great. I always thought that Y102 needed some local competition, and now it appears they're going to have some. Competition, in my opinion, makes for better quality radio stations. Y102 is sounding better with the heavy lean on classic rock. I've been listening to them more recently because of their shift in direction.

That's funny. WRFY went on the air in the 60's as a beautiful music station and the calls were picked to stand for "Wonderful Radio For You".

Rock Hits did not come into play until 1992. From 1979 to 1982 WRFY was an AC even before AC's and from then until 1992 WRFY was pretty much a pure CHR.

I travel the state almost 4 days a week

driving through i think that it is a Good station compared to what else is on the dial

just my thoughts
