Y108 Morning Show - Way Back When....

Maybe someone can answer this for me before it makes me nuts.... Who did the morning show on WDSY before Jimmy and Monty were on the morning show the first time? (This would have been late 80's, early 90's or so). I remember a guy named Rock Thompson, then there was a duo, then Jimmy and Monty, I believe. Trying to recall who that duo was before Jimmy and Monty.

Thanks all!

I was never a big country fan, but I recall at one point they had a married couple on there in morning drive.
I wanna say they went by Jonathan and Terri Rhodes? Perhaps that's going all the way back to the WEEP days.

It might of been Love and James?

Gary Love and Keith James were at Y108 in the mid-80's when I worked across the hall at WEEP, but that was when Jimmy & Steve were leaving DVE and headed to Ft. Lauderdale. Jonathan Rhodes was on AM , he and Terri had already split up and she was no longer there. I was given Saturday mornings when Jon was cut back to 5 days.

I was at Y97 the next year when we brought Jimmy & Steve back to Pittsburgh and they were in Braddock for a couple of years before Jimmy went to Y108 with the "You might be surprised to know I like country music" TV spots.

I'm pretty sure his immediate predecessor was Ron Antill.

It was Love and James I was trying to remember. Thank you all for your help and your wonderful recollection abilities!

That's right, Keith James did that sometime after he was the play-by-play voice for the
Pittsburgh Spirit.

I haven't lived in Pittsburgh for several years, but wasn't there a morning team on WDSY called "Welch & Woody"? Not sure if they were on-air between Jimmy Roach's stints. Just curious.

By the way, this is my first post to RadioDiscussions. I've been a fan for many years, but never felt compelled to register until now. I feel liberated! I look forward to "talking" with yinz on this board again. Thanks!

Meant to respond to this a while back.... yes, Welch & Woody were the morning show after Jimmy left for his several years with Froggy. W&W also worked in Orlando, and if memory serves it was not at a country station.
