Y94 / Billy Joel

To the best of my knowledge (read: "a quick scan of the dial") right after the Billy Joel concert in Syracuse last night, Y94FM was the only station doing anything Billy-related.

On the good side, all the songs I heard on Y94 were songs that did NOT get played at the concert. Good way to play songs people might have been wishing for, but Billy didn't do live... and it wasn't like a repeat of the concert you just saw.

On the bad side... by the time the concert got out, it was roughly 11PM. Add in time to walk to College Place, wait for shuttle buses, the slow trip back to the parking lots... 3 or 4 songs and it was suddenly over. Time for the Overnight Music Machine at midnight. Ricky Martin came on, and my radio went off.

A lot of people got out of the Dome ahead of me, and there were still a lot of people behind me... so I'd call myself the "average" in this one. Many people definitely got to their cars after midnight and missed this altogether. So if and when there's a next time, Y94, consider going to 12:30 or even 1:00. Considering how far some may have had to drive back home after, I would even say 1:30 AM is reasonable.
