Yacht Rock 990

As for "the crap on 990 Philly" these days, it's one of the best possible uses for a somewhat-hampered regional AM facility and has more listeners/advertisers than you'd probably think. CCM had a nice, long, successful run on 990 WZZD, but with K-Love and Word FM and Reach FM and F.L.N. and Tune-In and I-Heart and Live365 and Shoutcast and Music Choice and XM/Sirius, the present 990 format has a much better chance on AM than the previous music one(s) in 2019.

I'm a little biased here because for the most part I dislike talk radio. That's why I call what's on 990 Philly crap. (The same goes for 1210). For talk shows I like Consumer Advocate Clark Howard and The "Digital Goddess" Kim Komando. I used to like Dr. Joy Browne (may she rest in peace), Car Talk (which is still on select NPR stations, but not locally in Hartford), Colin Cowherd (until ESPN Radio fired him and whatever network he's on now, the show isn't on in Hartford), and the now defunct local show on WNPR here in Hartford called The Food Schmooze.
