Yahoo! and NBC Sports Joining Forces

I don't get it! Yahoo! partners with ABC News for their features and news articles. ABC and ESPN, of course, are both majority-owned by Disney. Will there be a conflict somewhere in this?

Just wondering: NBC just started a sports radio network. Yahoo! attaches their name to another sports radio network (nee Sporting News Radio). Wonder if these two properties will merge?

I can just see it now - A sports version of MSNBC Hmmm.....

Does that mean Ed Schultz will get his own sports show on the weekends on such a new network to compliment his political talk show on MSNBC ?? Would be refreshing to see since he is a former sports PxP guy & likes to talk sports from time to time

I was wondering the same thing. Yahoo Sports Radio is owned by Gow Communications, and the flagship is KGOW 1560 here in Houston. Interestingly, Gow just recently purchased the local ESPN affiliate (KFNC 97.5) out of bankruptcy (Cumulus Media Partners.) There hasn't been any word about a NBC Sports Radio affiliate for Houston.

Houston already has a glut of SportsTalkers on 610, 790, 1560, and 97.5. CBS SportsRadio will launch on 650 in January, giving CBS two sports stations in the market--one local, the other national.
