Yahoo: Howards Last "Free" Show

Like a human drawn to view the remnants of a four car accident, I decided to tune into Yahoo's coverage of the Howard Stern Free Finale.

As of 9:19 am Eastern, no Howard, except via historical clips.

What we do have here are two whitebread, wasp-ish commentators dissecting Howards personality, influence and, of course, why we should all be ponying up money to buy Sirius subscriptions.

I mean for an infomercial...which I guess this is what its supposed to be...its bad...

Finally! Maybe now we can get away from the million and one "poor Howard", "mistreated Howard", "First Amendment abuse" news clips and puff pieces.
______________

And now we can get back to the equally stupid "War on Christmas" reports that have polluted our airwaves with conspiracy nonsense and political blather.
______________
What, you were expecting me to make sense for a change?

Howard didn't have any First Amendment rights to talk dirty on the radio. His employer is the only one with First Amendment rights. Go on your A/C station, start a political diatribe then try to claim First Amendment when you get fired.
______________

Howard's End

Let's hope Howard's FIRST show on Sirius is A LOT more entertaining than his final show on terrestrial radio.

If not, there will be some SIRIUS repercussions.

You don't have "first amendment" rights when you're working for
someone. They can tell you what you can and cannot say on the
radio. You work for them. They sign the checks.

They pay the fines.

Which is why Clear Channel dumped the Howard Stern Show. He wouldn't
control content on his own; Clear Channel was responsible for any fines
and sanctions from the FCC, so the choice was easy.

Re: Howard's End

I dunno..I'm sure part of the appeal for his listeners was to see how far Stern could go..just how close to the line. So he'll go on Sirius, say "f*ck" twenty dozen times, and the faithful will think its so cool that Howard said "f*ck". So what does he do on day two?

, so what?
______________
