Yamaha SPX90II

These boxes used to be fairly common in production studios. I have one that is dead, with no obvious clues. The power supply seems ok, putting out its rated voltage when unloaded. When I reconnect the motherboard, all three rails drop. All the caps seem good and the regulators on the motherboard check OK. Anyone have either experience with or a manual for this box?

Grab your meter and measure the resistance between each rail point on the motherboard and ground.
One or both will more than likely show a low reading.
Then it's just a matter of isolating the shorted component(s).

IIRC, these had a battey somewhere in the works that would eventually die and shut things down. II don't RC, oh well.

Battery has 3 volts... I'll try ohming out the rails. Sure wish I had a 'roadmap'.

Wish I had a copy I could scan and send you myself. Bet the battery is at fault though. A common failure mode on this unit.

Even though removing the main board is a PITA, I'll pull it and substitute a new battery.
