I'm just curious if anyone has heard if the Yankees are going to show any games on free TV. They were on Ch. 9 last year.

Yes, they will air on WWOR 9 this year. I don't know the schedule and if it's on the 9 website. You could probably look on TVGUIDE.com or Zap2it.com for listings for WWOR.

They will also air on UPN 9 WCTX in New-Haven (WWOR feed)

IIRC it is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 or 30 games on Ch. 9. Most, if not all, will be on Friday nights. Plus there will be some national Fox games on Saturdays.

I checked the broadcast schedule on Yankees.com this morning and as of right now they only have the FOX and ESPN games specified. I surprisingly couldn't find anything on the WWOR website.

Maybe the local TV schedules haven't been posted yet, but with the regular-season less than a month away, the TV schedules should have been finalized by now.

If, for example, the WWOR-9 Yankees' schedule is to consist of 30 regular-season games, the station might broadcast games one night a week as well as the season opener, the home opener (if the Yankees open the season on the road) and perhaps a couple of other games (maybe Memorial Day and July 4th??) to bring the schedule up to the 30-game total.

I have seen a couple of promos on WWOR for "Friday Night Yankees".<P ID="signature">______________

In response to my original post, I think 9 is really not grasping the fact that they even carry these games this year. The only thing you see when you go on their website (and every other Fox owned station) is stupid Tyra Banks and her trashy talk show at 5pm. It gets old after a while.

I was watching WWOR this morning and saw an advertisement for the Yankees and they now refer to the station as My 9 along side the Yankees logo. However, that's the only place it appears so far. Everything else is still "get it on 9".
