YAY, Elmo and Patsy on KRTH yesterday!

Wow. Amazing. A trite and stale radio station plays a trite and stale song, [EDIT] triggering this trite and stale response.

[EDIT-inflammatory]

C'mon now. Calling that musical act trite and stale is hardly inflammatory. Hell, I knew them in Reno in 1978 (they were the hosue band at a ski area) and, when they quit the music business, they themselves said they were trite and stale.

Trivia question: On the original 45 rpm Elmo and Patsy "Grandma GROBARD" release, what was the A-side release (correct, GGROBARD was the B-side)?

Hint: it was played on the world famous 94-1/2 KFAT in Gilroy.

Gladly, they only played that one a handful of times this year.

After all the complaining I did of K-Earth not playing much Beach Boys and Elvis (and playing four or five Carpenters and Mannheim Steamroller tunes a day,) I must say they did a better job with the annual Christmas Day five hour mix. It had Donde Esta Santa Claus, Little Saint Nick, and Chipmunks repeated three times, with no repeats for anything else. Also featured some more obscure stuff like Ramsey Lewis, Ventures, Stevie Wonder live, Ray Coniff, and this year's forgotten fave: Boney M. They should still get rid of the KOST stuff, as we already have a KOST. But at least for Christmas Day, they accented the oldies. Remember, it is an OLDIES station, Mr. Khaye.
