I know that this may not seem like a cogent question but here goes.....Why did 790 NOT broadcast any of Tech's games in the regional that was held over at Russ Chandler Stadium this weekend? One would think that with Tech being the #2 National Seed, that it may merit at least some play-by-play coverage over the weekend from ISP or 790.
______________

I could be mistaken, but I don't think 790 has the rights to air GT baseball.

They did air some weekend games this past season with Wes Durham doing PBP.
______________

Maybe partly because 790 The Zone also aired the Georgia Force arena football conference title game this past weekend, as that station also has the rights to broadcast that team's games. I believe WREK-91.1 carries a few of the Tech baseball games, if I'm right. According to the WREK website, the station will broadcast all of the games of this weekend's super-regional between Tech and Tennessee.

Made a call to a friend at the GTAA. ISP only pays 790 to carry
5 or 6 games per baseball season. One of the games with UGa. is usually on the
schedule. The rest of the games are given to the students at WREK. Wes and Randy did the games in Jacksonville because the students were away for the summer break. Speaking for some of the Tech alum's, we would like all the night games on WREK for the signal strength. If you can put up with the bad p.s.a.s and promos that they run. Just wish Wes was doing the play by play.

It's hilarious when listeners whine about non-commercial time filler, the "bad" PSAs and promos... one would think they'd be grateful to get the sports feed without commercials.

Wes does all of the GT football, men's basketball and now Falcons play-by-play; doesn't he deserve some time to rest?
