YES 94.5 Needs A New Name

This station sounds like a real good AC as compared to Star 92.1, but Star has always been more Hot AC sounding to me even before YES came into town. But 94.5 needs to drop the name YES and get a better name. Lite 94.5 or even Magic 94.5 would sound better. As for 94.5 I hear them in a couple places that I have gone to.

OK I am gonna show my age here, but you are correct... When ever I hear the name YES I have flashbacks to what could have been one kick ass station in Columbia IE Yes 97 which was very dance friendly back in the day... CC1

Do you really think we need more generic, unimaginative names like "Lite" and "Magic"? "Yes", while not the best name in the world, is at least a little more original. Thank God for the radio people that don't just go for the "Froggy"/"Kicks" country monikers, or the "Kiss"/"Jamz" CHR and urbans, or the "Magic"/"Lite" AC brands.

Put a little creativity into your game, folks. It will take you places. At the very least, it will take you out of that rut.

I sent them a snail mail addressed to "No 94.5". Of course, Kelli Dixon got mad at me when I also criticized her. She sent me a postcard telling me to change the station if I didn't like it. I wish they would move her to 94.5. Fortunately, I'm rarely in the area.

Only WEZV has good music. Too bad there aren't more instrumentals.

Hey, you stay classy!

I believe it will be WEZV/WYEZ again by the end of the summer. 94.5 is just more of the same on the beach. WEZV is unique to the beaches and S.C. The South End needs a better signal of beautiful music.

I think 94.5 is great because it fills the void left when 96.9 in Charleston went country. I think the Mark Carnella liners and bumpers are slick. The station has a better mix of music than most.
As for the beautiful music signal on the south end, it's already been solved. They recently moved BOB off the 100.7 signal in Georgetown and replaced it with a simulcast of 105.9.
