yes.com question

I go to www.yes.com and enter KMVK it says No channels found matching that search, sorry. It has worked in the past... So I try simply entering Movin and the results returned are:
WMUV - 100.7 - Movin' 100.7
KMVA - 97.5 - Movin 97.5

WTF? ???

Don't know about Movin' but I use yes.com frequently and noticed last night that KZPS isn't their either. Enter "Dallas" in the search field and you'll get a list of all the area stations.

Have you tried their new version that they're pitching on the right column? What a joke. The current days of copying and pasting text (play lists) will be long gone. It reminds me of the early days of Prodigy where it was all graphics based and no text. And look where they wound up...

I hope the current version doesn't go away.

Do Stations pay any Fees to Yes.com to have what they've played show up on Yes.com, or is it a free service to any station ?

I ask this, because many stations put out there own limited version of what they've played/what they're playing on their station websites now.

No they do not. In fact, for awhile stations could actually make money from yes.com anytime a listener actually purchased a song via the links given by yes.com.

Unfortunately yes.com isn't 100% accurate, due primarily from the way the system works. They actually monitor the stations, and software listens for the soundscan fingerprint within the song. If a fingerprint is found, it is matched with a song title and artist database and displays the info on the website. However, many songs either do not have soundscan fingerprints, or the songs have them but yes.com doesn't have that info in their master database. Because of these flaws, it's common for yes.com to missreport a song, or not report one at all.

I think it's far better and more accurate to look at each station's website, to see if they are posting their playlists.
