Yes You CAN (Bargain With Comcast)

Ok, I'm a big fan of Keith Olbermann and watched or recorded "Countdown" nearly every night. His removal from MSNBC was certainly shocking, so I was happy he was going to be on a national (if minor for now, until he revitalizes it) network. So I was willing to add Current TV to my service. Now Comcast has a so-called "Digital Budget" tier, so I called them to try to cut back the price on "Digital Starter", then add Current. Well, you CAN order "Digital Budget" and then add some "Digital Starter" channels for a few dollars extra, but NOT if the channel you request isn't on that tier. Well, it was almost like the proverbial auto dealer who had to check with his or her manager, but after a few minutes on hold, the rep came back and put together a package of "Basic Broadcast"; "Digital Starter"; and Current TV for LESS than I'm paying now, provided I agree to two years...and a lot can happen in two years. I mean one of these days, Harold Camping has to get it right!

I would imagine sports-oriented digital channels are exempt from this package. (Isn't NFL Network confined to Comcast's digital tier?)
