Yesterday 9/27: Local FM off, 3 newbies

Big 100KW KATS 94.5 was off the air for about 30 min yesterday and I grabbed 3 new ones! All around 1105-1135 PT. KATS then came back on with full 100,000 watts blocking all the others.

94.5 - KRXY Shelton, WA; ID "94.5 Roxy" and song matches including "Raspberry Beret" Prince and others. NEW #387, 710W!!; 126 miles.
94.5 - KHTQ Hayden, ID; no ID but ad for Coeur d' Alene business and Les Schwab Tires. NEW #388, 83KW, 197 miles.
94.5 - CFBT Vancouver, BC; no ID but song matches to "Cool Kids" Echosmith and "Stay" Rihanna, both around 1125-30 PT. NEW #389, 90KW, 218 miles.

Also heard were a country station fading up at times (KJDY John Day, at 170 mi?) and an unid with two men discussing Wall Street and the Japanese financial markets. I can't find a thing anywhere online with CBC Radio 1, NPR or a news/talk translator on this frequency in WA, OR, ID, BC or even Western MT. NOT K233CJ Walla Walla (Smooth Jazz) either.

This morning was also good for tropo scatter. 106.3 KLOO, 106.9 KRWM, 106.7 KLTH, 101.9 unid with Christian music, likely needed KTSL, 101.1 KEYF, 99.9 unid with Pink's "Perfect," likely needed KWRL La Grande, OR, 98.5 CIOC, 97.7 CBUF, 96.1 CHKG, 95.3 CKZZ and 98.1 KISC all noted.

Possibly CBUQ, CBC translator near Cranbrook (Radium Hot Springs)? 206 watts. Translator is also listed under the drop down menu under "frequencies" at the cbc.ca page.

That's 206 watts and a long ways into BC. Probably not them. There has to be a new translator on within 150 miles or so with public radio stuff. Not Es (out of season), not Ms (heard 2 or 3 times in 15 min).
