Yet Another One For La Preciosa

from rronline
"Clear Channel CHR/Rhythmic WGBT/Greensboro will flip to the company's Spanish Oldies "La Preciosa" format tomorrow at 5pm, joining the KSJO/San Jose-based network programmed by Alex Lucas. WGBT (94.5 The Beat) has been Rhythmic since February 2003."

My opinion is that they missed the format. Probably something like Viva Atlanta, or Mega in Houston, would have done better. We'll see.

Not really. In a smaller market with mostly Mexican first generation listeners, the broad demos of the Spanish adult hits format of Preciosa is much more effective than a pop or reggaetón format that are niche appeal formats.
