Yet another religious station in Nashville...

So I'm on my way to church in Mt. Juliet, and about halfway there I notice something mixing with WFSK on 88.1 FM but it's not Bowling Green's Way FM (WAYD) or another Bott relay...It turns out that WRSN 88.1 licensed to Lebanon with 1650 watts must have finally signed on overnight after a few years of being a dormant CP like WQZQ 830.

The station sounds like a knockoff of the EWTN Radio Network based in Alabama, but right now there's only one show being played on a loop and the show is called "Catholic Answers Live". It sorta makes sense, being that the owner of the station is St. John Vianney Church/School of Gallatin, TN.

The legal ID, which is done at odd points of the hour by what sound like a minor of some sort, almost reminds me of those kids chanting over and over on KJES shortwave! (at 7.555 Mhz, 11.715 Mhz, & 15.385 Mhz on your radio dial, by the way...)

No word yet on if they're hiring, or if it's going to be student run...maybe somebody else can find that info...

They must have been testing, or got in the way of WFSK, because the loop of Catholic Answers (not so) Live! is gone as of midnight. All that's on 88.1 in Lebanon is open carrier, with a little static in the background.

ST. JOHN VIANNEY ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL This is in Gallatin..about 1/2 mile North of the Square..

They're back...after a few hours off the air, it looks like they're here to stay. 88.1 even has a moniker of "Risen Radio", a website http://www.heisrisenradio.com and they had some guy who sounded like he was forced on the air asking for donations during a break. Also, if there's anybody from Cookeville reading this, there's supposed to be the same Catholic programming starting up on a new station licensed to Cookeville: WRIM 89.9 and it has 25kw according to the FCC.

how in the wide wide world of sports did WRSN get 88.1 licensed to Lebanon with WFSK
already in place in Nashville? I understand in theory the signals shouldn't overlap: I've seen
the 60 and 70 dbu circles on the map...and they don't touch. However...try 88.1 on the east
side of Nashville...say around 40/Stewart's Ferry...and listen to the cancellation.
I would have thought WFSK would at least have protected coverage in Davidson County...
but, they're getting destroyed by WRSN.

Before WRSN signed on, WFSK was clear in parts of Mt. Juliet, and now the two stations clash there. Now I'd say anyplace west of Hermitage is WFSK territory, there's a mix of the two in Mt. Juliet now (you can literally stand in one spot in my church's parking lot and get one station, then take a step or two and get the other, but WRSN is slightly stronger) and then WRSN has the Mt. Juliet city limits, Lebanon & stretches to reach Gallatin.
