Yet another subchannel concept; Justice Channel in January

Gannett is picking it up to launch at the start of the year; looks to be a quick-fix for the Live Well Network death problem

Who is watching these uncreative subchannel ideas outside of the few people who basically have their dials locked to HLN and Investigation Discovery 24/7? The only people excited about this are the waiters and waitresses who might get an extra dollar a year on their SAG checks from getting this stuff with reenactments rebroadcast, Turner, who now can easily sell off HLN without having to worry about where it's repeats can't be disseminated, and Alex "Missing" Paen, who can easily sell his terrible no-budget product to this network.

So I suppose this network will be a mix of junky "Missing" reruns and reruns of court shows from the 1980s to today. Maybe "Superior Court" and "The Judge" can come back as reruns. Would also like to see Power of Attorney again, haven't seen that show in years (starred Andrew Napolitano). Would also be nice to see reruns of Texas Justice and Judge Mills Lane. BUT NO...don't EVER go "Eye for an Eye!" That show was real bottom of the barrel for court shows.

And speaking of Alex Paen, I never got to see his old "Emergency Call" show in the early-mid 90s - was that terrible and no-budget as well?

I watch some of them (sub-channels). Seems like the target audience keeps getting smaller and smaller. How long till we get the Baby channel and Dog channel? You're right the way they keep rolling out, some are bound to fail. I'm not too fond of court shows and Unsolved Mysteries, so I'll probably not watch this one. But, I wouldn't doubt it finds a home here on an Atlanta station.

These subs seem easy to create and program. As soon as they get about 20 or less stations break even (my guess).

Pretty much all of them so far have risen and fallen. The exceptions apparently are Me- and THiS-TV.

Gannett has a number of stations that already have .3's and .4's...and RabbitEars.info shows KCEN in the Waco, Texas market as having a .5. Will be curious to see what might be dropped or moved around to accommodate Justice Network. Gannett has been adding WeatherNation as a subchannel on some of its stations recently.

Here in Houston Gannett's KHOU has Bounce on 11.2, so we'll see if they launch an 11.3 for Justice Network. However Bounce has an agreement with Univision for carriage on many of its stations, so that might wind up on a new subchannel of KXLN or KFTH.

Why not the Cat channel?

How about an entire channel devoted to home videos? After all, while I've never done this, some people think the Internet exists primarily for cute kitten videos.

Personally, I wait until Tom Bergeron or Dean Cain shows them on TV.

Antenna TV is pretty strong too, although their schedule has become stale lately. There is a new diginet called 'Escape' that came on over the summer. We have them in NYC but not sure how much they have expanded.
