Yetta Gibson Promoted to Evening Anchor at KTVK

With all the complaining by TV execs about the cost of doing business these days and the addition of many hours of repetitive programming (hello redundant news casts) why would they add staff to a position that has been capably filled?

It hardly seems necessary to have three talking heads to present two hours of news - especially when the 2nd hour is a virtual copy of the first.

At this point, it seems that things at 3TV are beginning to stabilize. However, my guess it that Patti Kirkpatrick may be the next (and last) highly-paid KTVK anchor to leave the building when her contact is up. She will be replaced by some combination of Yetta, Carey, and Fields. We all knew that they didn't bring Fields in to just co-anchor the 10pm news. They slowly were introducing him to the Phoenix audience... Glad to see Yetta get a big seat! :D
