Yo 95.1 KMYO San Antonio

Strangely, I just heard the legal ID and it said KCOR-FM Comfort San Antonio.
FCCInfo.com still shows the call letters as KGSX, and RadioInsight posts them as KMYO.
Have they changed?

Over all I like the station, lots of variety from the 90's and early 2000's. I think the newest song I heard was from 2003 or 2004. I would suggest going into some of the 80's hip-hop tracks and playing songs deeper in the hip-hop genre to avoid repetition.

The audio is good so far but I would put a little more deep bass on and ease on the limiting a little. At least it doesn't sound like screws need to be tightened up in the processor somewhere (Hot 104.5 sounds like that). LOL...

95.1 > 104.5. Yo is much better than Hot. Time to put classic rock back on 104.5

I just picked it up last night. Playing mostly 90's and 00's hip hop songs. Meanwhile 99.5 KISS sounds still like a Classic Rocker stuck in the 90's and 00's. Some of the songs on YO! should be canned like 50 cent and Ludicrous. Just my 2 cents. Heard Vanilla Ice, 2 PAC and Kris Kross. Should throw in some Classic Dance tracks and I will listen to it more.

Reminds me somewhat of YO 1590 RAPS, KYOK Houston back in the day.

I agree. I hope they open up the playlist a little more add Freestyle and Dance tracks from the late 80's, 90's and 00's. Otherwise, their PPM's will spike up, but tumble southward like Hot 104.5 has experienced in the last two months.

Strongly agree. 2005 music isn't old school.
Friday night on Yo I heard a few tracks similar to Sunday's Pop and Lock Beat Mix on KBBT, 80's style hip-hop/disco. I liked that.
Yo is not bad for what it is right now, I just would like a little more variety. I don't know if people will listen to it if it's too similar to the other stations.

And the call letters have stayed the same, for anyone wondering. KGSX Comfort. Funnily enough last time I was up there in Comfort I didn't hear a trace of KGSX, they may want to change the COL to something closer when/if they change call letters.

Interesting cause the TOH ID is saying KCOR. I would imagine this would be illegal.

Curious if Hot will react and if the Pop N Lock mixshow will be moved to 95.1 since it seems much more fitting than 98.5.

There is no more KGSX call at 95.1. The legal ID for the station is now KCOR-FM Comfort/San Antonio. Not sure where RadioInsight got the 'MYO calls from, but Univision applied to adapt 1350's call to the FM, thus the additional suffix of -FM to the KCOR call.

Regarding the calls...the FCC CDBS database still shows them as KGSX today. If you go to http://www.myyo951.com, the title of the home page is "KMYO | Classic Jams" and the FCC call reservation system (http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/callsign/mainch.pl) shows if you enter KMYO, that they requested them back on December 12th. So, it would appear the intent would be to switch to KMYO at some point. Not sure why they are using KCOR-FM...

I'm in love with radio again

I was down in SA yesterday (I live in Austin), stuck in traffic, using my phone for GPS. So I started scrolling the stations and ran across "ROB BASS". One song after another me and my husband darn near got out the car and started dancing. It was like a fire was lit and we couldn't stop. I wanted to scream it from the roof tops that old school 90's hip hop is back. I am so sick to death of the garbage that other stations play: toot it and boot it, turned up on a Tuesday, panties, hoes, gettign drunk and humpin around, strippers on a pole. Man i miss original jamz. So yes, thank you YO for being original and DO NOT let anyone tell you to change.
