"Yo! KTFM Raps"

Jammin 94.1 debuted a new show called "Yo! KTFM Raps" this past Saturday at 8pm. At best, the show was okay. Kinda seemed like the music was throwned together at the last minute.

Here's some of the music-

The Sugarhill Gang- Rapper's Delight
Salt-N-Pepa- Shoop
Tone Loc- Wild Thing
Digital Underground- The Humpty Dance
Heavy D & The Boyz- Now That We Found Love
Mellow Man Ace- Mentirosa
C&C Music Factory- Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) Hip Hop??
MC Lyte- Cha Cha Cha
Young M.C.- Bust A Move
Candyman- Knockin' Boots
Gerardo- Rico Sauve Hip Hop??
Kurtis Blow- The Breaks

Like the music so too the STATION was just thrown together. :D

IMO, that's a good collection of Urban hits from about 1983-1989. I liked most of those tracks during that time.

At least they didn't throw in "Ice Ice Baby."

Urban hits? Many of them were big Pop/Top 40 hits. Only three of the songs are from 83-89, from 1989 to be precise - Tone Loc's "Wild Thing", Young MC's "Bust A Move", and MC Lyte's "Cha Cha Cha".

Sugarhill Gang's "Rappers Delight - 1979
Salt N Pepa "Shoop" - 1994
Tone Loc "Wild Thing" - 1989
Digital Underground "Humpty Dance" - 1990
Heavy D & The Boyz "Now That we Found Luv" - 1991
Mellow Man Ace "Mentirosa" - 1990
C&C Music Factory "Gonna Make You Sweat" - not Rap, and is from 1990
MC Lyte "Cha Cha Cha" - 1989
Young MC "Bust A Move" - 1989
Candyman "Knockin Boots" - 1991
Gerardo "Rico Suave" - 1991
Kurtis Blow "The Breaks" - 1980

Your research trumps my top-of the-head assessment and faulty recall of the list. Usually I'm better at that. :)

I still like most of those tracks.

Yeah, me too. This weekend, Jammin 94.1 has sounded really good. Love the new adds of Old School Hip Hop and Freestyle. Now if they could only get rid of some of the older stuff.
