That's right everyone. WSLY 104.9 FM, in York, is now Jack FM. I was surfing the dial and discovered this today.

Heard the announcer say "This is Jack FM and we will play whatever we want". Hope this new format will work out for the York/Meridian area.

If you are able to recieve this station, check it out. You may like it.

P.S. Heard mostly rock tunes on here, as I was listening.

York Alabama is located east of Meridian Mississippi, in extreme West Alabama. Sumter County to be exact. This station was catering to Urban music for many years. They just recently switched to Jack.

P.S. Meridian Mississippi is located in East Mississippi, near the Alabama border.

Why would they do that in York since Meridian just got Sam-FM the ABC version of Jack or vice versa or Westwood One.

Jack is distributed by ABC and Sam by WW1.

And yeah, that is weird. I think that would make Meridian the smallest market with competing VH stations.

We'll take care of that quick enough. :p
