Yorke and Depetro on it Cianci not on it

Has anyone noticed Dan Yorke and John Depetro always make the talkers top 100 every year, while the so called star of the Station who without a doubt makes top salary and rakes in more commercial business along with sponsors wanting him on recorded ads hasn"t. Buddy has never made top 100 or those 150 below. I guess industry knows he could be considered a local star who would not play outside RI.

What is the determining factor to be on this list? I assume that it's a panel of judges not even located in the same state as the people they are voting on. For all I know it's one guy who compiles the list. So who makes him the know it all of "Hot Talkers"? I'm always skeptical of such lists since we know so little about the process of how they decide who makes it and who doesn't. It seems like a silly popularity contest that doesn't make much difference to anybody. I guess it allows the person on it to brag. Then the station can brag a little too. Big deal. It's still meaningless until I know how the whole process works. Does anyone here know?

My guess is Buddy has never purchased or attended one of the seminars Michael Harrison and Talkers promote each year. It's a little known secret that if you pay to attend the "New Media Seminar" hosted by Talkers, your chances of being included in the list go UP dramatically. If you are a local host and write the check to Talkers, your show suddenly gets better. So, it would be nice to be on the list.

If I had my choice between being on the "Heavy 100" list or getting Mr. Cianci's paycheck, which one do you think I'd pick?

LOL... yeah that's pretty much in line with what I was thinking. You can buy your place on some sh*t list. It certainly doesn't make you a "TOP TALKER". It makes you an idiot for spending your money on something that doesn't even legitimately qualify you as a Top talk show host. They probably stick a few people on the list who couldn't care less about it just to make it seem like a legitimate process. Are Stern, Imus and Limbaugh on the list? I doubt they are paying. Well Limbaugh might because he seems to be the type who would. I had the feeling it was some stupid popularity content where the list isn't really compiled in an honest way.

Where is Holland Cooke these days? I don't see him post here anymore, but he must know how they put together this list. He probably won't talk about it though because he wouldn't want to confirm that this list is just a bunch of BS.
