How refreshing is it to hear a station supposedly breaking all the rules?

* talking before and after recorded promos
* addressing the news person as "Mr."
* time and temp
* taking requests
* talking up and back selling songs

and here's the BIG ONE...actually being LIVE!!!

OMG...they are great...THANK YOU for making radio sound "REAL" again!

supposedly they broadcasted live from a demolition derby race at MArshefield Fair, and their car won!? wish i'd heard that, sonds pretty epic

Posted elsewhere earlier but far more appropriate here.

I have to give huge kudos to News Anchor, Garo Hagopian, Producer and CE, Larry Nelson and Ed Perry down at WATD.

We had some very serious concerns about broadcasting music during my 2-4 Sunday, brokered time slot for The Eclectic Picnic, but Edward was secure enough in knowing that the on-air staff could handle the situation and we did a series of drop-ins from reporters on the road AND put the music in, too!

All told, WATD did, again, what they do best during all emergency situations and provided continuous, quality coverage for the communties that they serve...and they're STILL doing it several days later!

Great job and I'm grateful we still have stations like `ATD and owners like Ed & Carol who actually put the needs of their community at the forefront of their broadcast mission--something the corporate entities in this and all U.S. markets could certainly learn from.

I'm glad I'm a small part of the `ATD operation.

One of the reasons I like WATD so much is the lack of over-the-top audio processing. It's easy on the ears to listen to. Anyone else agree?
