You have been given a radio station...

How would you program it and market (sell) it.

Pick out a real station in any market, switch its format, and give us your plan.

Necessary info:
Format,
Sample playlist (just give maybe an hour's worth, or just a few examples of what you'd play.)
Airtalent- will you have any? Voice tracking? Live? Satellite? (Remember, you have to pay for it:).)
Target demos.
Target advertisers (types of advertisers will do. No need to call out any names.)

Throw in anything else you think would be fun to include.

This is a for-fun topic...let's do some day dreaming...

Plenty. It give one the opportunity to think about programming a station, not placing it on the over saturated assembly line excused as programming.

My idea has plenty to do with the state of Texas. If and when I ever win the lottery, I will purchase KLOL Houston, KONO San Antonio, KONE Lubbock, WRR Dallas, and KNVO Port Isabel. With these 5 stations I will create the greatest and most powerful rock station in the state.

The station: Rock 101
The frequency: 101.1 MHZ
The format: Active Rock and Classic Rock with Heavy Metal weekends featuring "Sabbath Sundays" every Sunday from 6p-12mid.

The jocks:
Jim Pruett and Brian Shannon (KFNC Beaumont) 6a-10a
Wendy Miller (KIOL Houston) 10a-2p
Cindy Scull (KEGL Dallas) 2p-7p
Outlaw Radio with Outlaw Dave (KIOL Houston) 7p-12mid
Chris Sifuentes (KISS San Antonio) 12mid-6a

So there you have it. My superrock station spanning the state, rocking that ass. Of course, I don't have the money to do it yet, but I will accept charitable donations from the gallery. Thanks.

By all means. Hell, if I win the lottery and actually get the chance to do this, you can run SuperRock Lubbock for me.

'Yeah.. But not in College Station. I'd drop that station right in the heart of DALLAS! Or Kansas City.

I used to work with Eli [Pre-92Rocks]. He's a good guy. Knows his (BLEEP).
