You know it's really getting bad when....

You know TV is really getting bad when....
You turn on the "FAMILY" Channel and you get:
"Viewer Descretion is advised"
How sad is that? :(

Theyre running their Halloween movies these days, so it might have been one of them.

But then, it quit being "Family" when "Whose Line" started - not that I dislike that show at all.

I'd rather my kids watch that and develop a sense of humor than watch Pat Robertson's old-time money-grubbing.

They have also aired a slightly toned down "Austin Powers" on more than one occasion. Not your granny's Family Channel anymore. ABC "Family" now refers to "programming for the whole family", which includes some more adult (though still PG) fare in the evening (followed by the contractually-enforced airings of The 700 Club thereafter).

I can remember a couple of years ago when ABC Family showed the mini series "V". Now I liked the mini series and it's short lived follow up tv series when it originally ran back in the eightes. I believe it aired on NBC origianlly. but I wouldn't call it family friendly.

I see to recall "Batman" listed (at least in TV Guide) on The Family Channel when Robertson owned it. I say listed because we didn't have cable at the time. This would be sometime in the first half of the 1990s maybe. I did watch a couple of episodes on TV Land after we got DirecTV in 2000.

I wouldn't call "Batman" family friendly (although when it was on ABC, it was one of the first TV series I remember, and something this 5 year old looked forward to every Wed. and Thu. back in 1966).
