this has nothing to do with wods. dan mason has always been a cookie-cutter programmer. wcbs, wods and every oldies cbs station is playing the same a to z countdown this weekend. go to yes.com and compare wcbs and wods playlists by letter. same 3,000 songs in the same effin' order. they even provide the same script to local cbs station jocks to voice the countdown. schlock radio.

WOW, in the past, 'ods' was said ... on this board! ... to only play the same 400 songs over and over again. Now it's 3,000? I guess we've expanded our playlist a bit, huh?
Same script? I've looked around the studio, and can't seem to find ANY "scripts or liners!" We mention the name of the feature, in our own words, but that's only to let those who tune in and out, know what heck we are doing.
Oh, and it's not a "countdown!"
What's your station doing Radiodouble, I want to tune and check out your show, when are you on?

I just went to YES.com to see about CBS-FM versus Oldies 103.3. Oldies 103.3 is currently on the 'S' songs with "Seasons in the Sun," while CBS-FM is currently still on the 'L' songs with "Low Rider."
Exactly the same thing, huh? And, although KLUV might be doing a similar A-Z feature, check out KRTH in LA and WOGL in Philly. They are both doing a countdown (KRTH is a 400 song countdown and WOGL is a 1000 song countdown) which is different from the A-Z feature you mention all CBS classic hits stations are airing.
Just enjoy the A-Z feature. Both stations seem to be throwing in songs not in their regular rotation.

That's a great way to spice it up. It also gives listeners an opportunity to hear things they missed in the previous rotations.
It's also nice to hear the evolution of Oldies 103.3's jingles and imaging. It makes an already great and successful station sound even better.
