So I'm sick of the Imus thing. I mean how long can you talk about something that's over and done?
Let's talk ego or lack thereof.
Who has the biggest ones? Who has the smallest ones?
Keep in mind some ego is good if not necessary.

It is more than the Imus thing, it is having many with now bullrings in the noses of talk hosts and the media.,

I know that you may be sick of the Imus thing. But in the world of Radio, this story is HUGE! Give it a few more weeks and things might calm down. But at this very moment there is still to much to talk about. This Imus censorship is probably going to influence a lot of stations across the nation. What will now be allowed on the air and what won't be tolerated? It's a question that may take a while to answer.

That "while" isn't now yet...but...

This week, the federal appeals court in New York wrote the next chapter, tossing-out out the FCC indecency rulings that held broadcasters responsible for indecency fines for gaffes uttered on-air.

FCC Chairman Kevin Martin’s went through-the-roof.

HIS words, from his statement: "I find it hard to believe that the New York court would tell American families that ‘------’ and ‘------’ are fine to say on broadcast television during the hours when children are most likely to be in the audience."

More fodder for the censorship conversation, but that particular conversation misses the point that attaining the station's ratings goal is neither the FCC's nor a court's problems.

Here's the simple math: Pottymouth-for-its-own-sake, as in I-man's faux pas, can only subtract Time Spent Listening, it can't add TSL. People-who-ARE-listening can tune-out if offended. People-NOT-listening won't hear what was uttered.

PS: NOTE: Radio-info.com's bot bleeps-out "the 'F' word" and "the 'S' word," as you'll see above; but Martin included 'em -- SEVERAL times -- in his statement.
