Youngstown's New Talk Station

Playing R & B music now. ??? The morning show didn't go well - a terrable interview with a female preacher and phone problems galore.

"Caller...can you hear me? Hello?"

Disaster! A talk station that played Urban music all day. The only thing I can say is
"Its the first of the month. Where's my check"

1540 has changed formats once again. How long will this last? Another couple of months?

As long as the local marketing agreement lasts.

The programming is brokered, which in effect, means that Philip Cato will make some money off of it regardless of the ratings. And that in turn should pay the bills to Chris.

The website for the 'new' WYCL is: http://www.talk1540wycl.webs.com

Jim's even brought aboard Ray LaShure (known to WRMR listeners as "Reverend Ray," Carl Reese's longtime producer/engineer) as WHTX's program director. Other new weekend offerings to come soon will be "Sounds By The Sea" with Dick Robertson, Dick Clark's "Rock, Roll and Remembered," The Sounds Of Sinatra (a longtime WNIO staple), Weekend Radio with Bob Conrad, The Beatle Years, Elvis Remembered and "Country Gold" with Rowdy Yates.

This is such a wonderful move for the entire valley. Much kudos to Jim for offering to keep the standards format alive.

Huh? ??? How do you figure?

Sorry to hear it was a disaster simply because I'm a big fan of that WTAE dude that posts on here.

However, knowing he got the money anyway means I can say the following...

I'm so sorry I missed hearing the disaster. It's always funny when it's not your show going down in flames. <blush>

Louie, in his rather messy website on Vindy.com, has started mentioning that he's on 1540 from noon to 3, but the top still says WGFT 11 AM-1 PM.

I'll have to listen via the stream on Monday, of both stations.

I hope 1540 is not nearly the mess that it was last week.
