Youngstown's Y-103 DJ pleads guilty in porn case

Here's the odd thing.

For about the past few months, former Y-103'er Dave Messersmith has been openly campaigning for the Y morning job on Facebook, long before any of this came out about Scott Kennedy.

Well, he's got his opening, now...
 
And I'm guessing after Scott resigned, the Cumulus Youngstown web staff nearly broke their fingers on the keyboard removing his presence from the Y-103 web site.
 
Yikes, what a black eye for them! This is definitely an instance of a station having to try and break a land speed record when distancing themselves from a former personality.
 
The problem, of course, is that an entrenched morning drive host like Scott is usually ALL OVER the station website. It's not as simple as just removing his picture and bio from the morning show page.

A quick check of Y-103's site after this news broke showed no sign of Scott Kennedy, but I didn't dig all that deep.

Looks like the "Mr. Sports" bio page link is broken - presumably, it went to the morning show page. The "pictures" section has a 2010 contest that presumably has pictures of Scott...if you click to view it, it kicks you back to the same page.
 
A correction to an earlier message.

The campaign is to get Dave Messersmith back on Y-103, not specifically the morning show (though it's sure open at this point).

The Facebook group was created by someone else.

Dave has apparently been guest hosting the Y-103 Morning Show recently, so perhaps he will get the gig.

A note from him before the revelations:

"Today, Scott Kennedy tendered his resignation, effective immediately. We want to thank Scott for his many contributions that he has given to Y-103 and Cumulus Broadcasting. We also want to wish him the best in his future ventures..."

After the revelations, just one message..."Wow..."

Here's the thing...did Scott Kennedy announce last year that he was retiring? Dave posted back then...

"I'm in the running to replace Scott Kennedy, who is retiring. (fingers crossed)"
