We have been playing American Boy for like 6 months now, and it does good on the phones.... We will probably add Paper Planes in a week or two if we see other stations having success with it.

Paramore, Savage and Lil Wayne/T-Pain in a nighttime category.

Taking off for us (in a Western mid-market) - Lolli Lolli, despite it's significant decrease on the charts this week. MIA's hot on the phones but has yet to show life on callout. Secondhand Serenade's a monster with teens.

My personal pick to click (wow.. how old school is THAT??!!) is Let It Rock which we added last week. Getting lots of the good "who's that?" calls.

Your out of market CHR competition is already playing it, but it is better to only play/add proven national charting hits (meaning it's good being late) than jumping all over stiffs in small markets without adequate research. Jan Jeffries enforces that philosophy since most of his stations are in small markets.

truthsayer... I wouldn't be talking. I haven't heard Jack's Mannequin so I won't judge the song.

You said you work for Cumulus right? All their CHRs are playing "Shattered" by OAR, including yours, which just cracked Top 50. My MMR search shows the majority of the stations on the CHR panel playing it are owned by that company. Companywide, they never played Metro Station. 60% gold/recurrent

It looks more like you have a personal vendetta against his station than anything else. It isn't a good idea to move slowly on music regardless of what each market needs independently, which is what Jan does. I understand the ramifications of being too early on a song, but when songs are working for an area and there is high demand, then it seems right to play them. Sitting on burnt songs and being reluctant to forge ahead makes you sound stale especially in this format.

Why does CHR get dance that is so old? This has to be almost a year old.

But I'm glad it went CHR..play more dance in the mainstream today (look at ipartyradio playlist) !


David Guetta "Love is Gone" is all over Z100....!!!!! A great summer song (kinda old too, but the CHR audience don't know that).
