Your Dream Radio Conference

What would your dream radio conference look like?

What type of presentations would you like to see?

Specific speakers and topics?

Panel/Presentation/Speaker you NEVER want to see again (maybe one that you feel is at every conference)?

If you don't attend conferences what is the reason?

Doing some research on a potential conference that would be offered to the industry and want to hear from others. I appreciate your help on this!

One thing Radio and Records' Talk Radio Seminar had in spades that I absolutely couldn't stand was talk show hosts monologuing during lunch and breakfast about their views on issues, or worse, interviewing politicians, or even worse, instead of a talk host blathering, they'd actually let a politician speak to the audience. If I wanted to hear that stuff, I'd listen to their shows. I attend conventions to hear discussion about the business, not politics.

On the other hand, I do enjoy the Talk Radio Rumble at TALKERS' New Media Seminar, because it's like a talk host cage match. That is fun - monologuing hosts however, not so much.

I agree with the lunch time R&R events from the past...I remember a snooze fest with Fred Thompson the year ABC was using him to voice Harvey when he was out.

If there was a day and half conference that only cost $99 to attend would that be appealing? It would not be on either coast (somewhere in the middle) to try and keep the transportation and hotel costs down. Just trying to figure out what it would take for someone to host an event that would draw the PD's back to it. Nothing like going to an event and all that is there is syndicators and a few GM's.
