Next time you run into JMF, tell him that we miss his talent on the radio. I never met him personally, but he recorded a commercial for a retail business I owned - about 1984. We were advertising on the station he was on at the time -"CBS-FM 97" (before KRQR). From an advertising standpoint, it was a bad move - the station had poor ratings. But it was a thrill having JMF record our commercial. He's a real pro, and aside form his on-air talent as a personality, he had (I think) one of the best voices in Bay Area radio...or anywhere for that matter.
