Your Music, Your Station

In Nashville, our Hot AC switches to a satellite service during certain dayparts and all weekend long called "Your Music, Your Station". I've been trying to figure out who its parent is.

Any clues?

Can you name any of the jocks who are on the satellite service, or is it all-automated?

Jones Hot AC. They adopted the "YMYS" slogan a couple years ago...before that they were "The Best Variety", vestiges of which can still be spotted at http://www.yourmusicyourstation.com

If you're hearing jocks Blake, Scott Morrison, Dave Carey, Steve Cassidy or Sassy Hackett, it's Jones.

The station I work for uses it during off hours. It isn't bad. Pretty good selection of '80s and '90s. Sometimes a little slow adding/removing currents for my taste, but what do I know?

Here's a recent sample hour:

I haven't heard Jones Hot AC in a good while. (Most smaller stations in my area have abandoned satellite formats in favor of local "jukebox" automation now). But I do have a nearby station that has used ABC's Hot AC format for years and I've always thought ABC's format sounded really good. They use "Today's Best Hits" as their positioning statement and have a website at www.todaysbesthits.com.

I've never really cared much for satellite formats, but I actually find myself listening quite a bit to this small suburban-rural station since the market I'm near (Knoxville, TN) currently doesn't have a Hot AC. (We have two Adult Hits stations and an all 80's station that used to be Hot AC.) I'm not sure why someone doesn't fill that big Hot AC hole here. Anyway, the suburban signal I listen to ABC's Hot AC format on is 99.5 WYGO Madisonville, TN. They use the ABC custom jingles and acapella jingles for the drops instead of any recorded dj liners and it sounds much better than the prerecorded dj drops that never seem to be timed right or sound right. Anyway, I just saw this old post and thought I'd mention the ABC format. It's one of the better satellite formats I've heard.
