Your own "funny" (etc) call letter meanings

We know there are such things are "call letter meanings" but does anyone out there have your own
funny nicknames/meanings? A few of mine

WROR Boston (during the 98.5 days): We Rot Old Records
WVMT Burlington VT: VoMiT (though I like their talk shows, actually)
WMWM Salem MA "Where Music Was Murdered"
WRKO Boston: What Really Kinky Orgasms (when they had a sex talk show)
WODS Boston: W-Odious

WMQM, a dollar a holler station in Memphis: We're Making Quick Money (Thanks RDP for that one)

I also had some thoughts about funny call letters:

KRUD
KRAP
WRAP
WHOA
WHAM, possibly others. Do any of these actually exist?

WHAM in Rochester NY and I think WHOA is in Puerto Rico

WNON in Lebanon IN was NON radio (nice guys that owned it but pretty primitive)

WLW was known by studio musicians for World's Lowest Wages

WERM Wapakoneta Ohio, Worm

In Mexico, the "X" is often pronounced "Ss" (As in the end of "hiss") and comes from the Náhuatl or Aztec sound which has been adopted in Spanish there. Xochitl, or flower is an example.

Try that on XHTY in Tijuana. Sh.... ;D

A former AM-FM combo in Syracuse, NY: WNDR/WNTQ:

Radio "never done right," and

Radio "never top quality."

(WNTQ still uses the call letters today.)

A friend of mine also used to think NTQ sounded like saying "antique."

WRAP was a long-time R&B station in Norfolk on 850. It moved to 1350 after a frequency swap with all-news WNIS. Those call letters left the Norfolk-Virginia Beach market back in the 1980s, IIRC.

The FCC database doesn't show WRAP currently assigned to an AM or FM station.

WENT is on 1340 in Gloversville, NY, WHAT is on 1340 in Philadelphia, WHEN used to (still is?) be on 620 in Syracuse, WHO is on 1040 in Iowa :)

BTW, is there a WBAD or KBAD anywhere? :)

There was a Redding CA station with the call letters KSXO, 600 AM. The station was branded as "K-Six-O." But the other interpretation is obvious.

WBAD ("Bad 94") is on 94.3 FM in Leland MS. KBAD (KORK 920 until 1997) is in Las Vegas. The KBAD call letters were previously on 740 AM for many years in Carlsbad NM; it switched to KATK in 1987.

The old WSBP-AM in Chattahoochee, Fla. "We Slop Bud's Pigs."

There's a river near the station (now WTCL) and in years gone by, there was a hog farm "across the river."

KYAG (Kiss Your A-- Goodbye)
WHAP (We Have Arbitron Problems)
WYPN (What's Your Problem Now)? Perfect for a talk station......
WIMP/WUSS (Great letters for co-owned 250 watt AM daytimers in the same market.....)

The old WJOR in South Haven, Michigan was lovingly referred to as Worst Junk On Radio...

WATD Marshfield MA:We're At the Dump (nearby!)

WHDH Boston may have been licensed to Gloucester or another seaside town and it was suggested
it stood for We Haul Dead Haddock

Those on the Houston board know all too well about KTRH's nickname, coined when the place became a revolving door:

"Keep That Resume Handy"

(or alternately, "Keep That Rental House")

Is there still a KLIT in Fountain Valley, CA?

No, it's now KLST-FM. But there's a construction permit for KLIT 90.5 in Del Rio TX.
