Your time with Kim

I see that a new hot ac show was launched this week called Your time with Kim. I went on the website and it seems pretty interactive. From what I hear it is going to air live in all time zones and combines music, gossip, star chatter, real life chatter all into one. I wonder if this is the competition for boring Delilah. It is put out by Entercom but is not exclusive to entercom stations. I wonder if Peak or Mix would pick this up for nights.

Here we go with more homogenization of the airwaves.

Those national shows are great for small markets. In a market like Phoenix, that's jammed with talent, there's plenty of unique local personalities capable of this type of content and interaction.

Although Delilah and Kim look attractive to the bottom line, in this era when radio is restructuring, this concept, in the long haul, is just one more nail in the coffin of the industry.

Radio will triumph because of the human element that keeps the listener company, live and locally, and because of what the talent and station give back to the community.

Radio still has the potential to give the listeners what they can't get from ipods, podcasts, voicetracking, etc. , and Delilah and Kim ain't it.
