You're Listening to 'WBZ Orange-Athol, AM 700!

Fybush notes that the new calls (as of Apr 30) for WTUB (those would be perfect for Bath, ME) are WWBZ. Hmm. Those calls sound familiar. Just call 'em 'WBZ for short. Simulcasting the River, which flowed into the Concord NH area this past week on 102.3, and just be sure you don't talk too much if you're on the air there...

Ohhh...they're going to get a nastygram from the CBS lawyers-just like 1460 in Brockton did when they got the WBZB calls! It wasn't worth fighting, so BTRN just picked WXBR.

I sure hope so! The WBZ call sign is legendary. It took WBZ-TV a while to realize and appreciate that a few years back after they had (stupidly) branded themselves "News4NewEngland".

Yeah, but Orange-Athol is far more removed from Boston than Brockton is―plus, I don❜t think CALL letter promotion is much of a consideration/priority (with 0.700)...other than the cursory TOH-ID.
Given their insignificance, ratings-wise, I don❜t think CBS would even waste a call to their house lawyer❜s extension!
