I'll kick it off. This is JamzUSA out of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I can do tape,(while they're still around), MD, CD, and YSI. My interests are Urban, Urban AC, Rhythmic, Hurban, and Black Gospel radio stations. My wish list is any stations out of the south with these formats. If you would like to set up a trade, contact me:

How about adding a little extra about yourselves?

Hey married guy! How about making it a bit more interesting this time? Each person tell us something about yourself that's not radio-related. Most of us have known each other for a long time, but really don't know each other, you know?

Ok, I can do that my friend. I just got married Feb. 5th to a wonderful woman that I have been with for six years. I have two sons, 14 and 12, and three step daughters, 18, 15, and 13.

Now John, tell us about that wonderful family of yours. Proud Papa!

Matt from Big Apple Airchecks in New York...married 14 years, two little girls 5 & 10 who love to hear daddy on the radio! I work full time in retail sales, and part time in radio, both on the air and the internet.

I'm open to new trades, be it currents or classic stuff. I can record on cassette, CD and MD. I prefer to receive CD or MD, as I cannot listen to cassettes in the car, only at home.

I'd like to fill in some markets, like Indianapolis, Cleveland, Detroit, San Diego(especially KCBQ and B100), North and South Dakota, Iowa, Utah,...heck, I'll take almost anything to fill in my collection!

Re: How about adding a little extra about yourselves?

I have been in the process of a divorce for over a year now. I have no children. I own real estate in Austin and do income taxes sometimes.

I also like subways and travelling. I enjoy eating at mom and pop type restaurants. No corporate chains please.

I don't think I will be able to spend this summer in Brooklyn but I think I may next year.

I'm married to my wife Amalia, going on our eighth year. We do not have children. I work for a large metro area school district. We like to travel and I like recording airchecks from the places we visit. I love searching through second hand stores, garage sales for stereo equipment, old radios, airchecks etc. and have way to many...per my wife that is...

I am open for trades... but not actively seeking any. In other words, if you contact me I'm happy to do a trade but at this point will not be the driving force to start one. I can never seem to get caught up...am I the only one???

I'd like for us to somehow continue with Matt's idea of a database of traders and get people to trade from new markets. Don't get me wrong, I love you guys and the airchecks I've received from you all over the years, but somehow, I'd like to see new traders from new markets join us. I'm not sure how to do this though.

I can record to Cassette, MD, CD, MP3 from the Seattle/Tacoma market.

Re: How about adding a little extra about yourselves?

Mike, I don't believe there is such a thing as too many :)

It's nice to learn something about you all. I'm married to Becky for 14 years now (whoa). My son Tyler is 4. He is the best thing that ever happened to us. It's hard to explain the love.

I enjoy playing games and used to be an active ham radio operator. Now though, I'm playing games with Tyler and not spending much time on air. But, I used to really enjoy ham radio contesting, where like a game, the goal was to contact as many stations as possible in as many countries, states, whatever in a certain time period. You'd log your contacts in the computer and it would show your score as the contacts piled up. I've had several thousand contacts over a weekend before. One of my favorite places to do that would be in Bermuda at my friend Glen's house (I met him initially on the ham radio) because everyone wanted to call you to get that Bermuda multiplier.

I love to bowl and play tennis when I get a chance. My tennis partner moved to Florida though, so I haven't been out there in a long time.

Like Mike, I'm not soliciting airchecks unless someone 'must have' from me. I don't mind doing the YSI airchecks as I keep visiting different radio markets.
However, I'll go rabid for 80s CHR, so if you get those, please look me up.

I can record to cassette and MP3. CDs are occasionally possible although a headache if the aircheck is not already on CD. I live in radio range of NYC, Philly, Poconos, North/Central NJ. And been travelling too much. I also have inlaws in Boston so I make that trip a few times per year.

Thanks for telling about yourselves guys!

John

Naperville, IL (Chicago western suburbs)

I've been out of the hobby for about 2-1/2 years because of my schedule and other obligations, but have started to get back into this recently. A tapeables list is located at my site. I use cassette, CD or MP3, and can upload MP3s to YSI or my personal site. I will also do TV airchecks on VHS or DVD.

Format interests: Virtually everything, but my favorites are rock (AAA, classic rock/hits, AOR), oldies, '80s, CHR (especially airchecks from the '80s and '90s), and soft AC.

My name is Lance and I collect airchecks. Or rather let them accumulate to the point where my database is very outdated and useless.

Along with trying to keep this site and my other radio geektitude sites going FormatChange.com and sysadmin of Airchexx.com I try to make time for airchecking but it hasn't worked much lately.

I can tape all New York City stations, much of the Monmouth/Ocean and Trenton markets and a few Philly FM's (WYSP, WBEN, WRDW, WMGK, WDAS, WJJZ).

Right now I'm mainly looking for Format Changes for the aforementioned Format Change Archive and New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey airchecks from the late 80's through mid 90's.

At some point soon I'll have my collection list back online.<P ID="signature">______________

Re: How about adding a little extra about yourselves?

Hello all!

If you must know, I'm 27 years old, single, female, and working as a gov't paper pusher (oh well, the pay is great). It was through curiosity at a young age that led me to unconventional radio, but only in the last couple of years have I embarked on collecting actual airchecks of it. I'm not into finding the Boss Radio stuff or the oldies stuff, I'm more into the more obscure, left of center shows. The CBC's Brave New Waves fits that description to a tee. I've been looking for older episodes of that show these days. It's excellent stuff, though I can't stay up for it most of the time now because of my job.

Outside of finding the few good stations left here in Philly (all college), I also practice DJ mixing on a starter kit, and I occasionally write fiction. Also, I'm not too ashamed of my singing voice, haha. Oh, and I'm in the middle of a family of seven.
