This article lists a number of file sharing alternatives to YSI and some interesting tricks to use for things like unlimited DL's, etc.

Some alternatives:
www.rapidshare.de - Max file size 50MB. No DL limit, files are automatically deleted after no one has DL'ed them in 30 days. DL's begin after 30 seconds.

www.megaupload.com - Max file size 250MB. No DL limit, files are deleted after 30 days with no DL's. Max one DL per IP at one time. Some porn sponsored links. DL's begin after 30 seconds.

www.bigupload.com - Max file size 2GB! No DL limit, files deleted after 30 days with DL. DL's begin after 45 seconds.

I like YSI too, but it's more intended as an e-mail substitute and not to share a file with large groups of people. With the URL's going dead quickly on the Stern and WABC airchecks, and requiring second and third reposts, it's probably at least worth considering using some alternatives.

Some of the (surprisingly simple) tricks to increase DLs at YSI may work - I haven't tested them myself - but it just feels somewhat unethical to do, when other free websites are more equipped to handle large file transfers within the limits of their TOS.

There is a beta version of YSI that gives 50 downloads within 7 days, which is a lot better than 10. You just have to sign up for the service. The link is:
