You've Been Warned!!

KT'R is in lockdown mode today and tomorrow as temperatures flirt with triple digits for the first time this year. The Master Blogger has lined up Ed Phillips, Ppppreston Westmoreland, Pat McBland, Jay Lawerence, Michael Dixon, the Satellite Sisters and Mayor Philiberto for live in-depth reports from the field. Chef Eddie will be in the KT'R parking lot to see if he can fry an egg on the asphalt. Do not panic, but please keep your radio tuned to 92~Three for the latest on this late breaking story. We now return you to your local Media Hut, already in progress.

You forgot Lee Hamilton who will convert the KTAR High Speed Sports Wire to the KTAR High Speed Weather Wire to pinpoint the exact 100 degree moment! I want to talk to YOU about HEAT!

Thank you for such a timely and important post, Dr. I had in mind to publish such a post, but got busy at work. With the temperature in mind, the KTAR app on my iPhone is turned on as I anxiously await the first 100 degree day in Phoenix!!!

Happy 100 degree day, Aunt Edna!!!!

Closed Circuit to Mac y Gaydos: Make the 3:20 rewards code "100." ;)

I'm still shivering in Chicago waiting for the first "real" 80 degree day.

They're saying that our cool summers here are being caused by the much closer rows farmers can now plant crops in,
combined with so much spray irrigation.
It throws so much water in the air by transpiration, that it seems to be causing cooling of summers in the whole midwest.
I'm tired of running the heat this late in the year, and my investment in central air conditioning is becoming increasingly irrelevant.
Last summer, when I switched over to driving the '66 convertible, I was not able to put the top down comfortably on very many days.
This year, I may not even bother liscensing it, if it's going to stay cold all summer.

Does Deputy Dan's plane get grounded by the heat when it reaches
a certain temperature?

And don't toasters tend to break down more often in 100+ temps?

BTW, during the 4:19 (time approximate) traffic 'n' weather together,
one of D&D (not sure which one) said it was 100 degrees--but that
may have only been the unofficial thermometer at the KT'R studios.

The PHX WX ASOS registered 36C/96.8F at 2327Z (4:27 PM), and the
the same reading at 2355Z (4:55 PM). KTVK channel 3 weather guesser
Royal Norman said the high so far was 98F.

We now go to Monty, who is up on the roof, expect Pat to be witty about how he talks!

Oh, the fun never starts at KTR

And so the weather watch continues at 92~Three as Phoenix missed its first triple digit day by a mere two degrees! But fear not fans of SB 10~Seventy, the heat from hell will soon be upon us and our friends from Californication will be deserting the desert faster than Los Sun's chance of getting past Los Lakers! For Live, Local and First coverage of the Valley's brush with the century mark, smile with Gaydos and keep it on KT'R.

Michael Dixon will have Louie Thiel on to discuss the best bets for cruises when it does hit 100.

Chef Eddy will cool us down with some gazpacho.

And Preston will be back, boring us to sleep, so we can get through the hot day.

...fasten your seat belts and be sure your dentures are in their upright and locked position. Today could very well be the day!! Details coming up on 92~Three Action Central News.

Got my eye on the Dewey Point and my finger on the evap switch.

Locked and loaded Captain-Doc!

96°F | °C
Current: Sunny
Wind: S at 4 mph
Humidity: 11%

As of 1:00 p.m., we are still on 100 degree watch. My sources tell me that Jimmy Q. is on stand-by to assist KTeeAyeArrr with announcing the sunsational moment when Phoenix reaches its first 100 degree day.

I am just so proud to be a part of this monumental day! ;D

Never trust Google....

At 1:10 p.m., the weather is...

99° F
Feels Like: 94° F
Wind: From S at 15mph gusting to 24mph

So close, yet so far away. Just one little degree.

Close circuit to Mac y Gaydos: Go outside and talk for a minute or two. Might get us to the century mark!!!

According to our friends at the Arizona Republic, we officially hit 100 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport this afternoon at 12:53 P.M. MST.

I was a little bit off with my prediction of April 24th. ;D

Okay folks, it's time to really get things going on the board. Most of you aren't nearly the visionary that I am and therefore I know that this topic will generate more response than ANYTHING.

On what date will the first 100° day of 2010 occur? By the way, I have dibs on May 11th. DISCUSS!

Paging Ed Phillips...

I'm going to have to go for a date even earlier than that. I'm thinking April 24th will be the 1st 100 degree day. Not only that, it will be 102 degrees that day all due to this high pressure system that will come up from Baja California and raise temperatures for the entire weekend!

Paging Gumpdusky insider catfish (with a "C"): do you have any Lumberyard 1440
bumper stickers you could part with? I'm sure Akbar will even accept remainders
from previous stock...KDOT...KOPA...KXAM...even KPOK or KWBY!

DISCUSS! Paging Ed Phillips...

Don't forget Preston Westmoreland too!

If anyone is brave enough to create a KAZG bumper sticker, I'll take one! My starting bid is 51 cents. I can see the bumper sticker now, "KAZG Happens!"

So then who is the winner of the free steak dinner at Bill Johnson's Big Apple? KMGX? ???

From the bits of Dumb & Dumber I've heard in the past few minutes,
they're not in "triple digit overdrive" this afternoon.

Did KT'R dump the Rain Delay at 1:00 and bring in Grandpa Gerald to
gush over this historic moment for two hours? Guess not.

At the top of the 4 PM news, the KNXV channel 15 weather guesser
said the official high--so far--was 101F.

PHX WX ASOS at 2305Z (4:05 PM) was 37C, or 98.6 Keith degrees.
At 2314Z (4:14) it had crept up to 38C or 100.4 Fahrenheits.

This is soooo exciting! :D

Not Los Buckeye Boyz! But we'd sure like some of those fine Humbles in a pie and dine in the company of Luvable Jay. However based on the latest 12+ figures, that too aint gonna happen! All in all, just another brick in the.....

My excuse for waiting so long to finally go to London was "I am waiting for it to get warmer".

Damn it. I missed that day of opportunity 3 days ago, because now everyone seems to be updating their British facebook's, saying "is that it? Is our British summer already done?" I'm guessing that it must not have been warm there today. Hmmm... so far it's comfortable right here in Phx where I am.
