YSP drops "Rockers"

Thought this was worth noting. Rockers was on the air in Philly in some capacity for over 20 years, first with Ray Koob at MMR and then Ray took it to YSP briefly until Matt & Huggy took it over for the next ten years. I always enjoyed Friday nights with Rockers...back in the day hearing bands like Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill, Anthrax etc. YSP brought it back last year with Spike and some new crew but it wasn't the same. Oh well...another one bites the dust.

YSP has sucked since they droped the "Phillys Rock Station" format over a year ago

Speaking of shows, Mike... when are you going to update your signature? ;)

IMHO YSP is not going anywhere, although I wish they would blow up the format. The suits are content, and I guess the format fits with the Eagles. Look how many times they were close to flipping but they always kept the rock one way or another, weekends, day parts, nights, they just would not let it go. They still wanted the Rock tag. So I think they will just keep tweaking the Rock format but will never replace it. The greatest time for them was 1995-1997....

Are you on record as predicting the Eagles season will be as poor as YSP's August book?

In all seriousness, if the Eagles do have a sub-par season, do you think that will reflect much in the stations ratings? The birds typically give a decent spike to YSP's ratings.

Speaking of Rockers, I used to listen religiously when it started on MMR as "For Rockers Only". I stopped listening when Ray Koob stopped hosting the show. I don't see too may people here shocked that the show was axed.
