YSP Fox 29 no difference

After reading a few posts about why the Eagles are on YSP for the Stereo effect, I tried something today. I have my digital cable box connected to my stereo system, to hear most programs and music channels on cable in full separated stereo. When the game was on, I tried YSP on standard radio broadcast, then I tuned to Channel 29, with the Fox feed and the stereo effect on the Fox feed was just as good if not better than the YSP feed. The only advantage of YSP is they had the local guys Reese and the gang, as for the sound, almost no difference. This brings me to the question, again, why not WIP for the Eagles, unless you are not near a television and want to hear the game in your car or walkman in stereo. But most people watch the game.

What about the people listening to the radio at the game?? Do they not deserve the richness of full FM stereo?

I and many others turn off the network sound and listen to Merrill & Mike instead of 3 hours of plugs for network prime time shows and a lot of useless talk from announcers who know little about the Eagles, preferring the expertise of Merill who has seen every Eagles game for 30 years. When it was on WIP it was difficult with the buzz created by the tv. I was very happy when they went to FM and still am, and assume others prefer that, too.

With the digital cable box, isn't the analog 29 behind WYSP by a few seconds? They retransmit the analog digitally to the digital boxes. It's even behind the DT broadcast on channel 234.

Sorry, but I cannot comment on that, I did not have both on at the same time. What I do know is the stereo sound was fantastic on Fox 29. It might be due to the network, having better sound equipment than WYSP. When I have VH1 Classic or other channels on, the stereo sound and separation is outstanding, better than the radio.

I left central PA yesterday about 3 hours later than I wanted to, and listened to the entire first half on YSP. I was thinking how grateful I was that the game was on an FM station, and not WIP. It made the trip home go by a lot quicker listening to Reese and Quick. YSP had a ton of plugs for their music, Kid Chris, and Couzin Ed. They were really trying to capitalize on getting their sound out to the listener who was only tuning into the Eagles game. NO mention of "Stern in the mornings" though!! I wonder if that is Infinity telling them to stop promoting Stern, or if that directive came from within.
