'YSP PD out

According to Radio and Records online:

CBS Radio talk WYSP (Free FM)/Philadelphia PD Gil Edwards has left the station after 10 years. No word yet on his replacement.

Then it goes on to say he's looking for his next oppotunity, so he didn't leave with another job.

Let the rumors about a format flip begin. Fresh 94?

no flip...actually the total opposite...they are now MORE committed to the talk format

Fresh941.com - not registered.

But remember they have had Fresh981.com registered months ago.

I have noticed that they are finally running Loveline promos during Kidd Chris lately but [warning: nerd rant] either someone made a typo or the voicework guy needs glasses because the promo says "11AM-2AM" HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT CATCH THAT. I'VE HEARD IT THREE TIMES AS OF TODAY (so HE'S their sole listener!) and its like NAILS on a CHALKBOARD to me.

thank you.

Y Country 94....CBS will want a cut of that XTU pie. Clear Channel beat them with the slice of the MMR pie. Though I'd bet on a "Fresh" start!!

That slice of country pie was Clear Channel's for the taking last August - and they've already done away with one of their two options they chose to go with. Although it isn't too late for them to switch to "US 106.1"...

if they did go country with 106.1 i dont think they would name it US 106.1

i think they would name it 106.1 the Bull

i will reiterate...the PD change is bc the station is NOT changing

Why would they want a slice of a 2 share?

My guess would be he is taking the gig at WPHT (just kidding). Sometimes 10 years at a place is way more than enough, and maybe he just wants to bolt. It happens.

Yeah. Not tonight. Or tomorrow. Or next week. I mean why flip from the stellar success they are now? Where else could somebody hear such urbane intellectual conversation? They're almost ready to advance to two syllable words. Why flip when they're on the cusp of such a significant breakthrough?

i would love them to change too... i just know the facts...and the plan is to stay talk
