Yuck WYRB Sounds Really Bad...

Hey guys is it me or am I getting really deaf with my hearing... Soul 106.3's audio is just plain bad... The audio sounds like some small town station using reel to reel automation where the tape heads are very dirty... There are no highs to speak of, way to much bass, and just outright muddy audio... I know they are running IBOC, but other stations running IBOC still have good audio on the analog side... How does the Chicago version of Soul sound? Is it as bad as our side of 106.3? Does anybody at Crawford even care about how their stations sound? CC

They seem to not have a direction in the programming department either.

They didn't take a lightning strike in the storms last week did they? I know in the Monday (or was it Tuesday.. I forgot which day) round of storms the NWS WX Radio (and B103.. they share a tower up in Rockton..) got knocked off the air (only reason I noticed it was that I wasn't getting my NWS alerts from the EAS box)

Hey Adam I know that B got taken off for a little bit as well as NWD, but YRB's audio has been going down the drain for a few weeks now... It is like AM on FM... Pretty bad... CC

As I just posted on the Chicago board...

It might be Crawford's plan to get people to buy IBOC receivers.
Although I think IBOC is junk...if every station sounded that bad I might go out and buy an HD Radio myself!

heh..

:)

I listened yesterday, and noticed some improvement, anyone know what they are using in their airchain? Orban? If Orban is it the fully loaded digital model, sometimes if the settings are not correct it will make the station sound flat or muddy.
