Yule Log Time

Yes folks, it's that time of year when tv stations air the Yule Log.

In the Fort Myers market WXCW TV 6 will air it beginning at 11:00 pm Christmas Eve until 11:00 am Christmas Day. They will also simulcast WTLT FM Lite 93.7, which is currently playing Christmas tunes.

Of course these days we can have HD Yule Logs. Any 3-D logs out there this Christmas? ::)

Be careful of "burn-in" on your flatscreen. ;D

WPIX in New York will air the Yule Log, Christmas Day for four hours. Not sure about our local stations.

This version of course will also air on many Tribune stations, and new this year on the (thankfully many now) stations of Antenna TV. No WGN America this year though, because it runs into WGN America's lucrative Sunday religion block and oddly, a marathon of Mad About You.

Gospel Music Channel also has their own version (now all day, up from before noon last year), and for the oddest Yule Loggish-like tradition, PBS Kids Sprout has their "Snooze-a-Thon", a loop of that network's characters sleeping to very soft music while the kids (and probably quite a few adults a little into the eggnog and other intoxicants) drop like flies watching it :D. Then there are the loops of Christmas music and host wishes on the shopping channels, as usual.

It's available on Comcast In-Demand or On-Demand for $4.99 and 4 hours. Who the heck would pay for it?
Same price with Verizon FiOS. Seriously, what the

Also they will be on your CW+ (plus) stations as well on the small makerts. WTLF-DT 24.1 Tallahassee Florida will do the Yule Log @11pm-6am and 6am-8am christmas eve night to christmas day morining.

Some of them will do late nights to early morining to replace the paid promgs time solt. during the overnight hours.

KCAL 9 will also be airing a Yule Log from early morning Chistmas Day to 10 AM.
I used the GMC Yule Log and I had to adjust the settings on my TV to make it widescreen and it wasn't presented in HD. The network bug was also in the way and it ran with commercials. Must have cost a fortune to produce the airing of the Yule Log!

In Tampa Bay, Bay News 9 ran their Yule Log on Christmas Eve, from 6PM to Midnight -- while they did have their channel bug in one corner (as per usual) and a ticker every half hour with news headlines and weather, there was no commercials or interruptions.

And of course, it's also available on demand on Bright House.

Nothing represents Christmas better than promoting obscene consumerism. Were any of the ads for personal pepper spray? ;D

Especially when I found the DVD available in a dollar store bin
