Yule log

Big kudos to "My PHL 17" for not only broadcasting the Yule Log, but airing a special on the program (how the log was filmed, the concept behind it, the end and the rebirth). It was a production put out there by sister WPIX/NYC.

WFMZ aired one similar, but it paled in comparison. Something about that grainy 1970 film feel.

Best high-tech Yule Log came from the former INHD2 (now Universal HD).

Nothing stupid about the Log! I love it! Great Christmas music on the soundtrack too.

Nertz doesn't get the meaning and story behind it, hence he sees it as such. It was a symbolic gift to the folks of NYC, most of whom live in fireplace unfriendly places.

It is wood burning on TV. Stupid!
The yule log is a nice touch - and has a great soundtrack to use as a background for gift opening. It's also useful in order to allow station staffers to be at home with their families. Anyhow, we like it - makes us laugh a bit too....

If you want to see "stupid", just turn on E! or MTV or VH1. The 'cast members' of all three, when added together, still do not have the intellect of one burning log.
