I was listening to Z-100 tonight before midnight and heard them briefly lose audio. When they came back on about 15 seconds later, their audio was a bit louder but extremely distorted. Now listening after midnight z-100 sounds very clipped. Wonder what is going on here. Sounds like something is turned up too loud. Not good!
 
Z100 is using lots of composite clipping in there Omnia 6, maybe they turn it up :-\ So not only a CHR war between Now and Z but also a loudness war.

Did this happen during a spin of "If U See Amy"?
 
I noticed last summer when I was in NYC listening on the radio, not online that Z100 sounded very clean, female friendly...not the loud compressed too much reverb sound all us radio geeks like me love! It's a shame if they start a loudness war to appeal to us geeks! With Z100 having a female PD, I'd be surprised if they go back to that "early days" sound approach!
