Z-100 Eats Crowe: Actor Alive, Despite Reports Of Death

They are also asking on Facebook today what people thought of Lady Gaga's apperance at CitiField over the weekend. It actually happened on Thursday, the Mets were in Camden Yards this weekend and should have been morning show news on Friday. Maybe some intern has run amok! :)

Was it really her that was at the game? You know, I just can't put my finger on it... :D

On Thursday, Z-100 had repored that actor Russell Crowe "had fallen 50 feet off a mountain in Austria" and had died. His publicist has confirmed that Crowe is alive, and that Z-100 had reported false information.

This story is not accurate. I heard them talk about the fake internet story that day and their follow up when they were misquoted. They never said he was dead. They said people were asking if he was dead and they said no.

They did discuss it Friday. My guess is that because they are a national show and the story wsn't national Friday morning, they made it Facebook fodder on Monday.

You would think someone at the former "Zoo" would be on top of the AP wire to see if anything materialized in the 24 hours following their initial "report" - to capitalize on a rumor that your own station/show contributed to would be a perfect way to blow off a Friday show.
